Animal Care: Zoos and Aquariums

This course will feature the basic care and management of aquatic species in both fresh and salt water environments. In addition, students will visit the Minnesota Zoo and examine animal exhibits, learning about captive and non-captive animal management. Career areas explored may include aquarium keeping, life support, dolphin training, graphics, marketing, zookeeping, collections management, exhibit design, horticulture, bird training, volunteer coordination, veterinary medicine, and educational interpretation.
