Intro to Web Design

Read the Introduction to Web Design handout. This will give you a basic rundown of what web design is and some examples of it.

Making Your Web Folder

Go to the desktop.

Double click on My Documents.

Go to your hour folder.

Create a new folder named “firstname_first_initial_of_last_name”. Example: “jons” for John Smith.

Exploring Dreamweaver MX

Open Dreamweaver. (Start -> All Programs -> Macromedia -> Macromedia Dreamweaver MX)

The interface in Dreamweaver is much like a combination of Photoshop and a fancier Microsoft Word. You can place text, links, images, tables, and a whole lot more just as the way you see it.
