Irish Flex Day
Superintendent Kreger has designated Flex Days at all District 196 high schools. The purpose of Flex Days is to provide additional support (intervention) for students. There will be two Flex Days during Trimester 1 and two Flex Days during Trimester 2 which will follow the same format. We will follow a different format for the two Flex Days in Trimester 3. Teachers will request students to work directly with them that need academic assistance. Students may meet with teachers for other academic reasons, including enrichment activities.
The schedule for Sept 27 is as follows:
Flex 7:30 – 8:25
- Period 1 – 8:30–9:10
- Period 2 – 9:15–9:55
- Period 3 – 10:00–10:40
- Period 5 – 10:40–12:05
- Period 4 – 12:10–12:50
- Period 6 – 12:55–1:35
- Period 7 – 1:40–2:20
Flex Day Process:
- All students given a pass from a teacher are required to report directly to the designated location at 7:30am for Flex Period.
- Any student can request to go to any teacher to receive academic help. A student needing help must request a pass from the specific teacher.
- All 10th grade students must report to school by 7:30 am. 10th graders NOT working directly with a teacher must report to their Homeroom location for a quiet study hall.
- All 11th and 12th grade students who arrive to school by 7:30 am and who are NOT working directly with a teacher must report to the Student Center for a quiet study hall.
- All 11th and 12th grade students NOT requested to receive help from a teacher AND who are in good academic standing in all their courses may arrive to school for Period 1 by 8:25 am.
