Student Learnings: What students should know and be able to do

  • Be aware of consumer responsibility in purchasing and owning (leasing) an automotive product.
  • Understand the personal and financial commitment to consumers desired level including necessary maintenance and costs.
  • Understand and demonstrate proper and safe use of common hand tools as they pertain to normal maintenance to an automotive product.
  • Demonstrate necessary consumer knowledge in the working operation of a four stroke cycle engine.
  • Demonstrate minimum knowledge in the mechanical and electrical systems of an automotive product including: the fuel system, the electrical system, the suspension system, the lubrication and cooling system and the power train.
