The 4Cast won Honorable Mention at the Student Television Network 2004 award ceremony. The award was earned in the daily show category for the Anchorman show.

Eastview Students Win MHSPA Honors

Twenty-three Eastview broadcasting students (twelve 4Cast and eleven Flash) were recognized by the Minnesota High School Press Association for the 2004-2005 school year for scholastic achievement and excellence in high school journalism.

Distinguished Journalist (3.6 GPA and at least one year of service) Kristina Amata, John Bauer, Katie Brown, Justin Dahlke, Lucas Dugan, Sarah Hagen, Lisa Jobes, Matt St. Martin, William Meiklejohn, Katelin Shiels and Katie Wilharm.

All State Journalist (3.8 GPA and at least one year of service) - Caitlin Baker, Holland Baxley, Malorie Booth, Kevin Burke, McKenna Ewen, Megan Groves, Brooke Kilgarriff, Chad Ries and Eric Zimmerman.

All Minnesota Editor (3.8 GPA and at least two years of service) - Mitch Dreier, Natalie Jones, Steph McKenzie


Fourteen Eastview broadcasting students (six 4Cast and eight Flash) were recognized by the Minnesota High School Press Association for the 2003-2004 school year for scholastic achievement and excellence in high school journalism. The 4Cast students winning awards were:

Distinguished Journalist (3.6 GPA and at least one year of service) - Kristina Amata

All State Journalist (3.8 GPA and at least one year of service) - Natalie Jones, Tony Kuehne, Stephanie McKenzie

Eight Eastview students (six in the 4cast and two in The Flash) produced videos included in the 2004 International Student Film Festival in Santa Barbara, CA. The 4Cast students are Amanda Jagdeo, Mike Lindsay, Mitch Dreier, Willy Mieklejohn, Scott Menk, and Steph McKenzie.

Eastview's video production students have been featured in several newspaper and magazine articles for their accomplishments.
