The 4Cast 2004-2005

Your grade for the quarter will be determined by the following outcomes:

- Newscast Proficiency Performance (40%):
- Displays competency in work area.
- Displays creativity in assignments.
- Manages time well.
- Outside work/Story Completion (30%):
- Performs and Completes packages/stories on time.
- Acts for the good of the entire group.
- Teamwork and Group Communication Skills (20%):
- Works well with others.
- Respects equipment.
- Arrives on time ready to learn.
- Portfolio (10%):
- Shows improvement through portfolio.
- Gives back to the community.

The first three areas are determined by your performance in class. You will be assessed on how well you do your job in class, how well you meet deadlines and how well you work with your classmates.

The final ten percent of your grade will be based on your improvement and reflection.

In order to receive an “A” in this class, you must finish a community service project during the quarter. You must use the skills you learned in this class to give back to your school or community (with no compensation). This must be a project outside of school assignments. Make sure you fill out a community service sheet to receive credit for this activity.

You also will create a VHS tape/DVD of all the material you created during this class. This tape will become a video resume of what you’ve learned during the quarter. You will then look back over the video and reflect on your improvement using the portfolio worksheet provided.
