Student Learnings: What students should know and be able to do 

  • Students will be able to: recognize the symptoms of stress, understand their personality type and how stress affects them as individuals, and utilize different coping strategies to manage stress.
  • Students will understand what is acceptable personal hygiene, how to maintain it, and acceptable/unacceptable hygiene.
  • Students will understand how chemical use affects their bodies, personal life, and work performance.
  • Students will understand the importance of recreation/leisure in regard to their physical and mental health as well as how to locate and engage in recreational/leisure activities.
  • Students will understand the importance of goal setting, the goal setting process, and how to manage their time to achieve their goals.
  • Students will understand the importance of the decision making process and how to apply that process to their daily decisions.
  • Students will be able to use the four primary communication skills: speaking, listening, writing, and reading and be able to utilize methods of improving their skills in these areas.
