A class unlike any other

This class took place at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities during first and second quarter. While most classes had a set curriculum, we had the freedom to help guide what would be studied within the constraints of the subject we were studying. This subjec was enumerative combinatorics which, without getting too technical, is math based around a finite set of numbers instead of an unlimited amount of numbers.

The textbook we used was A Walk Through Combinatorics by Miklos Bona. It was pretty easy to read and helped explain the concepts quite thoroughly.

We would meet once a week on Wednesdays for two hours and it was quite intriguing.

Topics Covered

We had alot of homework every week, usually 2-3 hours a day, but it was a very interesting class especially when we had our final project, an expository paper on a topic in mathematics. Our paper was on cryptography and different forms of ciphers.
