Bienvenidos
This year marks my 23rd year teaching Spanish in ISD 196 and my 12th year at Eastview High School. I teach Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 this year, so I conduct the class in Spanish from day one! One technique that I use to assist students with comprehension early on is to provide new vocabulary in context. Here is an example: |
Mi horario es . . .
Hora |
Clase |
Lugar |

If you trust your instincts, I'll bet you can guess the meanings of the words "bienvenidos," "horario" and "lugar" even though they look nothing like the English equivalents "welcome," "schedule" and "place."
I look forward to working with you and your son or daughter throughout the year!
