This is my 20th year in education; my 11th at Eastview High School. I supervise the Guidance, Mathematics, Science and Physical Education, Health and Safety Education departments. I am very proud to work at Eastview High School and within the world of education. I have the unique opportunity to work with students and families everyday.
I am excited this year to begin a new role at Eastview High School. I have been at Eastview for the past 10 years as our Athletics Director and my responsibilities will now shift to include work within the student services department while providing leadership for the scheduling and registration of students.
Additionally, I work with our probationary teachers to enable their professional growth as they gain experience. I am also involved with our peer review team working with the continued growth of our veteran teachers specifically working on one of our initiatives to develop assessments to improve our students' learning. I have also worked with a non-profit vendor to develop a dynamic, live, integrated web-based information center for the Lake Conference so that our community has accurate "real-time" access to our athletic and building schedules.I began my teaching career in Mexico, Missouri at Mexico High School as a biology and physical science teacher. I also enjoyed coaching football and boys' track and field. I then took advantage of on opportunity to coach football at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. I coached two seasons for the Huskies before taking a position with Eagan High School in Eagan, Minnesota to teach biology and earth science while coaching football, baseball, and boys' track and field. Following my 4th year at Eagan, I began a new adventure at Eastview High School as an inaugural member of the staff.
I earned my B.S.E. in Secondary Biology Education in 1988 from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. I then earned my M.S. degree in Athletic Administration from St. Cloud State University in 1997. I have also completed my K-12 Administrative Licensure and earned an Ed.S. Degree in Educational Administration through Saint Mary's University where I also teach in the Educational Administration licensure program.
