Ann McCarthy
konnichiwa! Hi, My name is Ann McCarthy and I've been teaching Japanese to middle and high schoolers since 1985. I first learned Japanese as an exchange student in Miyagi, Japan and then went on to study it at the University of Minnesota. I taught Japanese for 19 years in the Minneapolis Public Schools and started teaching at Eastview in 2005. I also am the founding dean of Concordia Language Villages Japanese village and I still am very involved in that immersion program.
During the year besides learning the Japanese language students will also have opportunities to learn Japanese music, dance, calligraphy and pop culture. In addition, we have several extra-curricular activities: Japan Bowl competition, J-Club, Japanese Honor Society. Please contact me for further information about the Japanese program at Eastview High School.
