Dr. Jennifer McCarty (Plucker)
This year marks the
beginning of my 16th year in Secondary Education. I never tire of working with high school students and fellow colleagues in this profession. This school year, I return to teaching my favorite age group: Stellar Sophomore Scholars! I'll also be teaching Academic Literacy 9, a course I absolutely love. I recently defended my dissertation and earned a doctoral degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Argosy University in October of 2009. In addition, I am an adjunct instructor for Hamline and Argosy Universities. I look forward to a great year teaching and learning with our Eastview students as well as collaborating with my colleagues in developing strategies to improve adolescent literacy. In my free time, I enjoy watching my son play football, my daughter dance and tumble, and cheering on EV Football (assistant coached by my husband, Coach Plucker).
This year I am teaching part time in order to devote some time to literacy leadership for the state of Minnesota.
Check out our course wiki for weekly schedules, assignments, handouts, as well as the EVHS Literacy web page.
