Welcome
Sophomore year is an incredible time of change for young adults.
During my 34 years teaching in English and history classrooms, I have been
drawn back to these sophomores and the opportunity to expand their intellectual
worlds. Most are developmentally ready for substantial leaps in the critical thinking,
reasoning, and the challenging work that goes with these expanded abilities.
Literature and close-reading of text is emphasized in all classes, with
in class essays an important evaluation tool. Students will be asked to read
and write more than they ever have before.
