Web Design Rubric


1. Target Audience:

Who is your target audience? Does this site fulfill the requirements for the assignment? Does the site include the content necessary to be an electronic portfolio?

2. Site Design:

Is the site well organized to meet the requirements? Is at least one PhotoShop assignment and description included? Is a link to the Premiere project provided? Is your 3D Studio project on the web?

3. Page Design & Simplicity:

Is the layout of the page creative and dynamic? Is it visually pleasing? Is content organized in a way that is easy to navigate? Does the layout and design of the page make sense to the audience?

4. Images, Graphics & Multimedia:

Are the correct file formats used (.JPG or .GIF)? Is video used correctly (streaming video)? Does the use of multimedia enhance the site or does it interfere with page load times or overall quality of the site?

5. Typography & Accessibility:

Is the site legible? Are colors used correctly? Is the information easy to access? Do all of the links work correctly? Is everything spelled correctly?

6. Overall Design & Use of Class Time:

Does the student display knowledge of web design and development? Does the page look like the author used their time wisely and efficiently?
