CAREER ESSAY

The main goal of this unit is to find out more about a career so that you can decide whether you might pursue that field after high school.

A secondary goal is to expose you to note taking, putting things in your own words, and documenting information--skills that many of you will need at the college level.

A final goal is to identify a career so that you have a frame of reference as we proceed with various career units throughout the year.

FINAL PRODUCT:

You will complete several career inventories so that you can see what careers are a good fit for your skills, personality, and desires.

Once we have identified a career that you are interested in and well-suited for, you will research the career, take notes on 3X5 cards, write a paper, and share your findings with the class.

The essay will have a title page, intro paragraph, multiple body paragraphs, conclusion paragraph, works cited page, and documentation.
