PSA: Our goal for the Public Service Announcment project was to research a societal problem and create a video based on the problem. I researched suicide in the United States based on bullying and produced a video off of it. In the video, I had a few friends act out different roles. The basis of the video was to have a kid, portrayed by my friend Jack, trying to find a seat at lunch, but couldn't, which was not uncommon. The next shot pans to my friend Sam who was portrayed as a bystander, but later went and sat by Jack. The video ultimately portrays that by just simply talking to someone, it can make their day and together, we can stop suicide.

6 Word Story: Our goal for the 6 word story was to create a video off of 6 words. It was a process that showed me how idealistic film makers are. As each shot panned, we needed to have a word to go along with it. We learned how to make special fonts, insert them into the video, and use special effects. It was a fun process.

Video Poetry: Our goal for Video Poetry was to find a poem, overlay our voice reading the poem with matching video. In mine I did a poem about dogs being great companions and I used my dog in the video. It was a lot of fun because I felt it was the most creative project we had done and I used special effects.

We made more videos throughout the quarter and learned the techniques behind filming and editing. It was a great experience and I would like to continue creating videos in the future. The main programs we used were Adobe Premiere and After Effects. I liked premiere more because it was simpler to use and you get nearly the same capabilities out of it. I lost a few clips because the files were lost, but we also made a few movies like Key Frames. In Key Frames, we overlayed a clip with images to change the faces of a scene. It was cool learning the editing, but it took a while to understand it.
