	~Winner of the 1953 Tony Award for best play, this exciting drama of the hysterical persecution of people accused of witchcraft in Salem in 1692 is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. John Chapman of the "New York Daily News" wrote, "The Crucible is a terrifying tragedy...a chilling, blood curdling portrait of the monstrous course of bigotry, self-righteousness and deceit" and Robert Coleman called the play,
	"an arresting evening ... harrowing, suspenseful, intensely dramatic ... which holds the spectator well forward in his seat."
