RHS Summer Programs 2017

Non-Academic Summer Reading Recommendations

Rosemount High School recommends that students in all grades read for pleasure over the summer. RHS students have access to over 900 eBooks and audiobooks giving them the opportunity to choose a book that aligns with their interests. Mackinvia can be downloaded to any device that allows apps. Through this program, students can search for books by topic, length, reading level, and genre. Books can be checked out for 3 weeks and renewed if needed. Please take a look at the following link with directions for downloading and logging into Mackinvia. Enjoy reading this summer!

Camp and Registration Information

Summer College Boot Camp

The 3rd annual RHS College Boot Camp is an intense experience with a primary goal of helping students find out more about themselves and learn what the college application process is all about. For many students who go forward without this important information, the process can be confusing and stressful. In addition, students will visit a college campus and learn about all of the technology and resources available to them. There are multiple presentations and interactive sessions available for students from admissions representatives across the state, high school counselors and our career center professional. Parents will be invited to one special session geared to them and a pizza party that we will have for all students and parents on Wednesday afternoon.

At the end of the Rosemount High School College Boot Camp, many students will have an essay written, started applications to colleges, will have completed portions of the Common Application and will have information about ordering official transcripts from RHS. Students will explore what it means to be applying to colleges and prioritize which parts of the process require more time and which parts they feel confident about. The RHS College Boot Camp is a truly unique experience for our students. It also looks great on your resume.

The RHS College Boot Camp is August 8-10. It does not conflict with the RHS Marching Band schedule or fall sports. Cost is $40 per student.
