Please Congratulate The Following RHS Students

Please congratulate the following Rosemount High School DECA members who earned recognition at the Minnesota DECA State Career Development Conference this past week.

On March 4,5 and 6 approximately 2,000 Minnesota DECA student members took part in the organization's competitive events program, allowing them to compete in over 50 events focused in the areas of entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, marketing and other related fields. The competitions are designed to simulate real–life business scenarios and test students' academic understanding and skills development. Students had to qualify earlier this year in district competition in order to compete at the State Career Development Conference.

Students earning the right to represent Rosemount High School at the 2018 DECA International Competition this April are:

  • Olivia Alberts – Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making – 2nd
  • Sydney Hansen – Hotel and Lodging Management Series – 1st
  • Jack Hartigan – Business Finance Series – 1st
  • Nicole McFee – Hospitality Team Decision Making – 1st
  • Lilly Parla – Hospitality Team Decision Making – 1st
  • Sanketh Premdas – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making &ndsah; 1st
  • Faiza Rafle – Hospitality Team Decision Making – 2nd
  • Jason Senthil – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making – 1st
  • Rose Sieve – Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making – 2nd
  • Brittany Snyder – Hospitality Team Decision Making – 2nd
  • Tanner Wenzel – Restaurant and Food Service Management – 3rd
  • Jonathan Wise – Employment Interview – Entry Level – 3rd
  • Jonathan Wise – Hotel and Lodging Management Series – 3rd

This April, Jonathan Wise, Nicole McFee, Lilly Parla, Faiza Rafle, Brittany Snyder, Olivia Alberts, Rose Sieve, Sanketh Premdas, Jason Senthil, Tanner Wenzel, Jack Hartigan and Sydney Hansen will travel to Atlanta, GA to compete with 20,000 top students from around the world at the International Career Development Conference – the pinnacle of DECA competition.

The following students also earned recognition at State Career Development Conference but placed just outside of the top 4 but were overall finalists in their event (top 12 out of 70 competitors):

  • Olivia Alberts – Advertising Campaign
  • Rose Sieve – Advertising Campaign
  • Sydney Cochran – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • Grace DeGrote – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • Molly Schaubroeck – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • Addie Westman – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • Gigi Freking – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • llie Sprouls – Sports Marketing Team Decision
  • Noelle Loesch – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making
  • Clarice Shanks – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making
  • Lauren Ebeling – Human Resource Management
  • Jason Harris – Business Financial Services Series
  • Emma DeWitt – Business Services Marketing Series
  • Aber Johnson – Hotel and Lodging Management Series

The following students had a top 12 overall test score overall for their respective event, there were over 300 students taking each test:
