Last night the Irish Boys' Hockey Team defeated Apple Valley 3–2 in quarterfinal section play. They advance to the semi–finals in Section 3AA on Saturday against Eastview High School at 4:30pm. This game will be played at Veteran's Memorial Community Center Rink in Inver Grove Heights. I was asked to remind our students and parents that tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. No passes are accepted. The arena will be cleared between games and fans will be charged for each session. Also, I have been asked to remind fans that no noisemakers (shaking cans, cowbells etc.) are allowed and all signs must be appropriate AND handheld and NOT attached to the glass in the arena, on the bench etc.
In RHS Gymnastics, Arianna Passeri qualified for the state meet by winning the vault in Section 1AA. She will compete this Saturday at the U of M at the state meet at 6:00pm. Senior Josey Schlie, one of the best athletes at RHS, qualified for state as well and injured herself in practice earlier this week. Josey qualified for the State meet 6 years in a row.
The Irish Wrestling Team will compete at individual sections today at Shakopee High School starting at 4:30pm. Ezayah Oropeza is the #1 seed in his 220 lbs weight class.
RHS Boys' Swim and Dive Team have section finals at Blue Water Aquatics in Apple Valley tonight at 6:00pm.
