June 2017 Newsletter from Principal Wollersheim

May 30, 2017

Dear Rosemount High School Community Members,

The final days of school are important ones for our students. We will graduate 532 seniors on Saturday night, June 3. Our students in grades 9–11 will return for their final days of school next week. Next week will culminate with Final Exams on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a great time to remind students to take care of any unfinished business in any of their spring courses.

For students in grades 9–11, Final Exams will take place for periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 on Wednesday, June 7 and periods 1, 3, 5 and 7 on Thursday, June 8. Please be sure to talk to your students about these exams. Please check with them to make sure they are prepared. Send them to school with a good night's sleep and be sure to serve them breakfast on final exam days. Seniors do not have school next week, after graduation, and are NOT required to take final exams. Seniors may choose to take final exams if they wish. Seniors interested in taking final exams should notify their teacher(s) in advance.

Next week students may also be alerted by teachers about summer assignments required for their courses next fall. The Summer Programs graphic on the RHS homepage at www.district196.org/rhs leads to this information. The Summer Programs webpage also lists information about summer camps, a college boot camp and a great selection of titles for summer reading. Rosemount High School recommends that students in all grades read for pleasure over the summer. Students have access to over 900 eBooks giving them the opportunity to choose a book that aligns with their interests.

Graduation will take place on Saturday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosemount Stadium. No tickets are required for guests if the ceremony is outside. The decision regarding the ceremony being inside or outside will be posted on our website by noon on Saturday. Important information regarding graduation is listed below at the end of this letter.

Many seniors will be receiving notification from their attending college to remind them to send final transcripts. Seniors requested final transcripts when they completed Senior Surveys earlier in May. The Counseling Office will send out all official, final transcripts by the end of June. There is no need to request these again, unless your attending college has changed.

As we wrap up this school year, I want to thank the entire Rosemount High School Community for your support of our students and school throughout the year. It has been an honor to serve as principal again this year. A special thanks to this year's senior class and parents. You have contributed to and built upon the many great traditions of this school and community!

On behalf of the entire Rosemount High School faculty and staff, I wish each of you nothing but the very best during the summer months!

Go Irish!
