Vocational Opportunities Notification
District 196 offers a variety of vocational opportunities to secondary students through the Business Education, Technology, Engineering & Manufacturing, Family & Consumer Science (FACS), and Career Development & Work Experience Departments. The purpose of this notice is to inform students, parents, employees and the general public that vocational opportunities are offered regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or any other basis listed in the nondiscrimination notice. The individuals designated to coordinate compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 are identified in the nondiscrimination notice above.
Admission in the specific vocational courses is determined by grade level, and in some cases, completion of prerequisite courses. Program offerings generally includes marketing, accounting and other business courses, child development and other FACS courses, animal science, medical/health/emergency services, woods, technology and other technology, engineering and manufacturing courses, hospitality management, music production and work-based learning.
