Prep Course – Registration

It’s time to start thinking about your future. Eastview High Sc=

is offering the ACT Prep Course =
i>to
help you prepare for this important test. Our next sessions are in
preparation for the February 12 ACT Test. The course provides 15+ hou=
rs
of focused study in preparation for the ACT Test. By design, the cour=
se
provides trained teachers who will navigate you through the ACT testing
process. Classroom time will focus on understanding the format of the
test, building strategies for answering more questions correctly and pacing
yourself during a timed test. We also provide an opportunity to take a
mock test under actual testing conditions. Students build confidence and sk=
ills
that will boost their scores on the actual test. Students will =
have
access to hundreds of practice questions. The cost of the program is =
$150
and scholarships are available for students who need financial assistance (=
see
Mary Hanson in Guidance). Whether you have taken the ACT test before =
or
you are new to the experience, we will prepare you to do your personal best.
Registration is limited to 15 students per class. Registration

LEAP, lightning environmental
awareness program, new year’s celebration will take place today at 2:=

LINC 101 is a leadership development seminar specifically for ninth and
tenth grade students. The seminar is a seven-week course focusing on =
the
traits of great leaders and will run from February 1 through April 1.
Small groups of freshmen and sophomores will meet once per week (outside of=
the
school day) with a faculty facilitator and a jr/sr LINC Leader. Each =
week
includes a pre-meeting reading/activity (to get you thinking), a 60-minute
meeting (full of thought-provoking discussion and activities), and a
post-meeting journal/activity (to allow you to reflect on how all this appl=
ies
to YOU). Topics covered include: leadership, goal-setting,
adversity, integrity, time management, communication, risk-taking and
initiative. The seminar will end with a large group evening
activity, a panel of speakers, and a chance for you to share where you are =
at
as a growing leader. Benefits include: a chance to develop as leaders,
discussion about the challenges facing young leaders today, a chance to meet
new people, an opportunity to put leadership into action, experience to inc=
