Identify personal interests, values, skills and abilities using Career Center Software (Self-Directed Search and Guidance Information System)

Link academic strengths and personal interests to potential careers

Activities:

Evaluate the career portion of the PLAN Test

Utilize computer assisted guidance programs during adviser period

Conduct informational interviews with teachers

Complete parent/student interest inventory

Job Shadow one or more professionals

 
Junior Year

Career Exploration

Investigate future trends of specific careers

Learn about required education, training and certifications for various careers

Activities:

Use Career Center software to link careers, majors and colleges
Listen to professionals share their expertise and recognize the link between academics and careers

Investigate a potential career through Senior Project (a month long work-related experience)

Take advantage of interviewing and resume writing workshops
