Introductions

Approval of September minutes

Treasurer’s Report
-Need to spend some of the $14k balance that is in the account
-Dale reviewed the budget
-Change from last year in coaches’ salaries with the addition of John Kruegel

Salt sale
-Approximately 16 boys met at the high school on October 19th to call
-Boys were divided into three teams
-About 500-600 names were given out
-Boys sold about 400 bags which generated about $800-$900 of additional profit
-All boys received gift cards
-Will do the calling again on October 26th

-Money and lists are due on Thursday, October 23 between 5:00 and 6:00 unless you are calling on Sunday the 26th

-Buyout option: $2 per bag

Delivery date of salt is November 1st at Shepherd of the Valley at 8:00am

Budget
Still looking at purchasing:
- Utility vehicle 
-May share this with the football program
-Wind screen which will be out on varsity fence
-L-screens
-Turf in varsity cages
Need to repair netting

Clinic
-Will be held on Friday evenings (15 sessions) at the Rosemount dome
-Run by EVAA coaches and high school players
-High school players will have a chance to coach and practice
-Cost is $200 for younger players and $100 for high school players
-Already have 110 younger players who are interested
-Coach Strey will send out an email to get the high school players involved

Coach Strey

Coach Strey met with returning junior varsity and varsity players.  Discussed:
-Grades and staying on top of things
-Summer baseball schedule
-Winter opportunities (all grades)
-Winter workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 2:45pm
-Open gym time on Sunday evenings and Tuesday mornings before school

Spring Break
-Any players not going on the baseball trip who are in town are expected to attend practice
-Trip scheduled for March 19th – 25th
-Trip costs $1200 which includes air fare, accommodations, van rental and two meals/day
-Purchased airline tickets for 21 players
-Eckerd College is hosting again this year

Committees
-Need people to call and get donations or signage
-Names and script will be provided to help with calling

Lighting the Varsity Field
-Were going to set aside money
-Complex by the new Target will have lighted fields
-Complex is scheduled to open in 2010
