Dakota County Library cards
- District 196 has begun a new collaboration with the Dakota County Library
system that will provide our students with fine-free library cards, giving them
instant access to the vast resources available through the public library
system. The process to activate these Student Access cards has begun with
current EVHS 9th graders. We will continue with sophomores and juniors
into 4th quarter through their English classes. A letter was sent home in
March with additional details regarding the program.
Students may check out print books from any of the Dakota County
Libraries with their new digital library card (196+student ID and a
self-selected password). In addition, students have access to a homework
helpline, digital eBooks and audiobooks and many research databases. A
general overview of the program can be found here: https://www.smore.com/nd2m3

Makerspace is located in the Learning Commons. It includes 3D
printers, Spheros, Axidraw, circuit boards and much more. Students are

MAKERSPACE WISH LIST
In the Zapp Lab,
we use, reuse and recycle all kinds of things! Many of our tools and
supplies are donated by families that have items they no longer need.
Here is a wish list of items we
could most use. Donations can be dropped off in the Learning Commons.
3D PRINTER TRAINING
All students are invited to learn how to use our 3D printers. Training is
currently held every Tuesday at 2:30pm
in the Learning Commons. After completing the 30 minute training
session, each student receives 2 free prints (up to 10 hours). Students
can explore a wealth of pre-designed projects at https://www.thingiverse.com/ or they can begin designing
their own projects. Open to all students!
