WOMEN IN ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

Invent it. Build it.

Minneapolis Convention Center

An experience designed to encourage middle school and high school girls to choose a career in engineering. Students will participate in a hands-on engineering experience with members of the Society of Women Engineers.

While the girls are having fun building and inventing, parents and educators learn about engineering careers, scholarships, college admission and resources. Register and more info here!





PLAY FOR PATRICK FREE YOUTH HEART SCREENING

The Patrick Schoonover Heart Foundation presents the first Play For Patrick Youth Heart Screen for the 18-19 School year on Saturday, October 27th from 8-4 at Eastview High School Gym.


The screen is open to ALL KIDS ages 14-18 and includes Family Health History, Height/Weight, Blood Pressure, EKG, Echocardiogram and learning how to perform CPR & use an AED. Registration link:

We cannot hold screens without the support of our volunteers and financial supporters.

Play For Patrick results:  From August 2015 through April 2018, Play For Patrick has performed 12 heart screens, screened 2,233 kids, found 123 with high blood pressure after repeated check, many normal with minor variants, 65 with abnormal electrical or structural heart defects-10 of those being life threatening and requiring immediate follow up & treatment. 2,050 kids & adults trained how to perform hands-only CPR and use and AED.

Patrick would be a senior @ Eastview this year.  He passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest on November 14, 2014 due to undetected heart conditions.  Please take advantage of this life saving screen. If you have questions, please contact Mike Schoonover, mschoonover@sbwinc.com.
