Seeking Scientists, Engineers, and Computer, Math, Software, Healthcare, and Manufacturing and Skilled Trades Professionals for the District 196 STEM Career Fair. Companies, Colleges, and Individual STEM Professionals are all welcome. We especially invite parents who are STEM professionals to register as presenters. There is no cost to participate and no formal presentation is necessary -- just be willing to talk to students about your career. It will be set up like a job fair or college fair as students move from table to table to speak with various professionals. You can get a feel for the fair by viewing this promotional video from last year.
For more information, please email Penny Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org or Paul Olson at Paul.Olson@district196.org.
DAKOTA COUNTY DIGITAL LIBRARY CARDS AVAILABLE!
Dakota County Library offers all District 196 high school students a fine-free digital library card regardless of residency. We have just completed set up of these cards with all 9th graders. Current 10th-12th grade students received their cards last year in their English classes. Resources include digital access to eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies and music, plus additional databases not available at Eastview. This card can also be used at any of the Dakota County libraries for print materials. If you are new to Eastview or do not remember how to access your Dakota County Student card, please stop by the Learning Commons for assistance. For additional information:
WIFI RESOURCES AVAILABLE
Are you unable to access WiFi at home for school-related work on your iPad? If so, please stop by the Main Office to see Dr. Franchino. We are working with Sprint and they are providing some students with WiFi Access at home who otherwise may have difficulty obtaining this resource.
SECOND LIFE LETTER JACKET PROGRAM
The Second Life Letter Jacket program was developed to provide students an opportunity to have a letter jacket who otherwise may not have the resources to purchase one. All patches and embroidered names have been removed from the donated jackets by NHS volunteers (other than the Eastview logos). In addition, each jacket has been professionally cleaned. Click Here to complete the application for a jacket. Contact Dr. Franchino with any questions email@example.com.
