(NEW) EVHS WRESTLING TEAM FUNDRAISER AT CHIK-FIL-A

Come out and support the Eastview Wrestling team by enjoying a great meal!  On Thursday, January 18th from 5:30-7:30 pm, Chik-fil-A in Apple Valley is hosting a Spirit Night to benefit the team.  A portion of all proceeds will go directly to supporting the wrestling program. This includes dine in, take out, drive through, merchandise/calendar sales, etc.  Thank you for your support!

 

  

(NEW)  Young Women STEM  Scholarship Opportunity for Grades 9-11: The Enterprising Women Foundation is offering qualifying young women a scholarship to attend the 2018 Enterprising Women Conference in Miami, Florida, March 4 through March 5, 2018 (more information on the conference is available here). The conference will expose and enable young women to be eligible to receive mentorship from a wide array of successful women entrepreneurs and leaders throughout the nation. To be eligible for the scholarship, young girls must be in 9th through 11th grade, show an interest in STEM based education and careers, and submit a response and essay located on the following page.


Submittals must be received by Thursday, January 25th, at 4 p.m. Submittal by mail or email is accepted. The nomination form with additional details can be downloaded HERE.


Up to four scholarship winners will be announced the Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Event on January 30th at Falcon Ridge Middle School at 4:30 p.m. (12900 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley, MN 55124). Scholarship candidates must be present to receive the award.

 

 

EASTVIEW DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT

Eastview’s annual dodgeball tournament will be held on Sunday, January 28th from 12-4 pm. Teams of 6 with a creative name and costume must pay $60 to participate - any Eastview student can participate! All proceeds with go towards the Play for Patrick Foundation. To register, scan the QR codes on the dodgeball posters around the school. Registration is due by January 26th.

 

  

CITY OF APPLE VALLEY SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Looking ahead to warmer weather and summer employment?  The City of Apple Valley has posted several seasonal jobs for the waterpark including lifeguard, pool attendant, water safety instructor, concessions supervisor and pool manager.  Copies of the job descriptions have been posted outside student services on the job board (west commons).  Apply online http://www.ci.apple-valley.mn.us/index.aspx?NID=404  or see Officer Plantz in Student Services if you have any questions or need help applying. 

 

  

2018 TEEN POLICE ACADEMY

The Apple Valley and Rosemount Police Departments are hosting the 2018 Teen Police Academy.  The academy is aimed at providing youth with an inside look at the operation and services of the police department.   Topics include department and squad car tours, SWAT team, drug task force, use of force, crime scene investigation, DUI/traffic enforcement and more.  The program starts February 1st and runs every Thursday night until March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Registration deadline is January 26th, 2018.  For registration go to www.cityofapplevalley.org/police or see Officer Plantz in Student Services. 

 

  

NOTHING BUNDT CAKES

Marketing students are once again competing in the Eastview Challenge.  One group will be selling bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  You can purchase yours during lunch on Jan 17-18th. Each cake is $5 and the flavors are white chocolate raspberry, red velvet and chocolate chocolate chip.  Your order can be picked up January 25 at the school store during lunch. 

 

 

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE AT EASTVIEW ON JAN. 19

The greater Eastview community of parents, family members, and neighbors are invited to donate blood as part of the NHS-sponsored drive on Friday, January 19 from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Eastview’s South Gym. Donation registration is completely online @ http://www.redcrossblood.org/give/drive/driveSearch.jsp Type “Eastview,” our sponsor code, in the search box and the follow the online prompts. See John Kelly in C232 or email at john.kelly@district196.org with questions or concerns. Please keep in mind that there is no school on Friday, January 19. All are welcome to donate.

 

 

SECOND SEMESTER PARKING PASSES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Second semester (January 29th-June 7th) parking passes are available for purchase on FeePay and are $120.  The parking permits will be handed out the week of January 22-26 at lunch.
