The 2006-2007 Lightyear, Eastview’s Yearbook won the MHSPA Gold Medallion Award: First Place in Theme & Concept Package this year. The Minnesota High School Press Association sponsors this contest and presents awards in several categories for “exhibiting outstanding academic and journalistic achievements in a statewide competition of scholastic journalism”. Out of over 50 submissions in the Large School grouping, the Lightyear took First Place in the State for the category of Theme & Concept Package. The Tenth Anniversary of EVHS was featured as our theme: “Storm of the Decade”. The publication personalized ten years of Eastview history, and highlighted the past, present, and future on our Journey to the Extraordinary by celebrating the accomplishments, goals, and dreams of our staff, student body, and local community. |
