This is my self portrait project. The assignment was to create an image that depicts yourself. I decided to start with a background of the United States because I love to travel. From there I found different pictures of things I like. I used the tools in Photoshop and made the image smaller. I carefully made the image the same size and shape as the state it would be going into. This was the hardest part of the project. It took a lot of time to get the image to fit into the state and keep the same boundaries that the state has. Then I added different effects to the final image, such as embossing to make it look raised. I was originally going to just do a few of the states but I decided to do the whole thing.

For this assignment we had to find a picture on the internet and then re-create it in Photoshop. It sounds easy but this was definitely the most difficult project of the quarter. I picked a picture of the beach thinking that it would be easy, however matching the colors in the sky was very hard. We were not allowed to use the eye-dropper tool to get the right color so we had to try and find the right colors to use. I set up grids on the original picture and then tried to re-create little squares at a time. We used the paint tools to draw. The original picture is on the left and the one that I drew is on the right.

This was the final assignment of the quarter. The rules were very open. All we had to do was create a project that incorporated the skills we had learned over the course of the quarter. I chose to do a collage about me and my sister (Brittany). I cropped the photos, made a background, and many other things.

This was another final project that I made when I was done with the one about my sister and me. I thought it would be fun to try to make a magazine cover. I found an image for the background and then used different fonts and tools to create the look of a magazine cover. I even found a little proof-of-purchase sticker to put in the bottom corner. I did not have a lot of time to work on this project, but it still turned out ok.
